10 Jun Kai Anamata Mō Te Tauihu: Wānanga summary report
A summary report released earlier this year captured key insights from a wānanga held at Te Āwhina Marae, as part of the Kai Anamata mō Aotearoa (KAMA) research programme. The KAMA initiative is a five-year initiative focused on exploring future food system scenarios and their impacts across Aotearoa New Zealand.
The wānanga brought together over 50 participants, including representatives from iwi, academia, local government, food producers, community organisations, and national research programmes. Held in Te Tauihu, the gathering served as a space to share knowledge and explore how tikanga-led and mātauranga Māori approaches can support the development of sustainable, resilient regional food systems.
The report remains a valuable resource for those engaged in shaping regional food strategies and offers a foundation for further wānanga and collaboration across communities, researchers, and decision-makers.
